General Open Access information

What is Open Access and why do we support it
Open Access allows anyone to access publications without requiring a purchase or subscription, because the costs of publication have been covered in some other manner. Depending on the license under which a publication is made Open Access, it also allows more liberal (re)use than would be the case otherwise. Working with institutions, societies, and our individual authors/editors, we therefore strive to make many of our publications Open Access.
Fully Open Access journals
At present, two of our journals are published Open Access under a ‘diamond’ model, supported by a society: Korean Linguistics; Language and Linguistics
Hybrid journals
Our other journals are currently hybrid; they are still largely supported by subscription revenue, but also include articles made Open Access through payment of an APC, and — increasingly — through Read & Publish agreements with institutions. We strive to get (almost) all articles covered by such agreements, so that journals can be made fully Open Access.
List of OA books
So far we have published a number of OA book titles; see the list of OA books
