A Review of Conference Interpretation

Abstract
The theory and practice of conference interpretation is reviewed in the first part. In a second section evidence pointing to the existence of an interpreting paradigm is adduced, and pointers to the existence of an associated teaching model are briefly discussed. The third section deals with the training of interpreter trainers and presents some recent developments. In each section reference is made to the most relevant literature, and a list of conferences and symposia on interpreting teaching appears at the end.
Résumé
Dans sa première partie, l'article passe en revue l'interprétation de conférence dans sa théorie et sa pratique. Puis, des éléments sont donnés pour montrer l'existence d'un paradigme de l'interprétation, et des signes concourant à définir un modèle de la formation qui y est associé sont brièvement évoqués. La troisième section de l'article porte sur la formation des formateurs et évoque l'actualité en la matière. Dans chaque section, des références sont faites aux publications les plus pertinentes. Une liste de conférences et colloques sur la formation est donnée en annexe.
