Abbreviations of Latin authors and their works follow the Oxford Latin Dictionary. Abbreviations of Ancient Greek authors and their works follow the Greek-English Lexicon by Liddell, Scott and Jones.
For Greek texts, we provide a version in Greek alphabet and its orthographical transliteration (see Table 1). Ancient Greek accents are musical ones: acute accents denote a rise (and fall on the following syllable), grave accents denote the absence of a rise, and circumflex accents denote a rise and fall intonation on the same syllable. Breathings, i.e. diacritics indicating the presence or absence of initial [h], are transliterated by an initial h-.
