Trust in the empathic interview

In this article, I discuss the concept of trust in the interview situation. I argue that my role, as an interviewer, is important in order to create trust for the interview In this article, I discuss the concept of trust in the interview situation. I argue that my role, as an interviewer, is important in order to create trust for the interviewee. Along with the interviewee’s expectations of what an interview is, I consider my own person, my professionalism, and my social background as the main factors when creating trust during my interviews. This article is based on the fieldwork for my folkloristic thesis to come regarding men’s and women’s narration about their experiences of war.
