At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century the technique of logical and grammatical analysis for the purpose of Spanish didactics began to be introduced into Spain as an imitation of neighboring France. Most “modern” grammarians included this technique generally into their works, as a widening of syntax. Nevertheless, it was not until 1843 that a grammar manual explicitly included this term, as Ramón Merino did in his Principios de análisis lójico. This paper is an approach to this work and the educational context of the period in which it was produced.
