Aproximación al significado de la forma española QUE dentro de la Escuela de Columbia

Resumen
En este estudio, el análisis de la forma española que (incluyente de que y qué) se libera de las bien conocidas categorías bajo de las cuales los distintos ques han sido clasificados dentro de la gramática tradicional: relativo, conjunción, interrogativo, exclamativo, comparativo y perifrástico. En cambio, se postula que todos estos usos representan una misma señal QUE con el significado se requiere más información. Se evalúan los posibles paralelismos entre esta hipótesis y otras propuestas previamente formuladas dentro y fuera de la Escuela de Columbia. Se dedica atención especial al problema de la presencia de que dentro de las llamadas perífrasis verbales de “obligación”: haber/tener + que + infinitivo.
Abstract
A Columbia School approximation to a meaning analysis of Spanish QUE
In this study, the analysis of the Spanish form que (including que and qué) is freed from the well-known categories under which the various que’s have been classified in traditional grammar: relative, conjunction, interrogative, exclamatory, comparative and periphrastic. Instead, all of these uses are hypothesized to be the same signal QUE with the meaning more information is required. Possible parallelisms between this hypothesized meaning and other previously formulated hypotheses within and beyond the Columbia School (CS) are evaluated. Special attention is devoted to the problem of the presence of que in the so-called verbal periphrasis of “obligation”: haber/tener + que + infinitive.
