The editors would like to thank all participants of the LABLITA-LEEL Workshop that took place in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in August 2015, which was the seed that gave life to the long interaction among editors and authors that originated this volume. The organizing committee of the workshop was coordinated by Tommaso Raso and Heliana Mello and was supported by all the members of the Laboratory of Empirical and Experimental Linguistic Studies (LEEL) of the University of Minas Gerais and the LABLITA laboratory at the University of Florence, Italy.
The editors would also like to thank the referees of the volume, and especially Amina Mettouchi, who read and offered valuable comments regarding the the whole volume. A special thank you goes also to Marcelo Vieira, who did a great job adjusting all the papers to John Benjamins's editorial norms. We further thank Leon Shor for his substantial help with the second proofs and especially with the index. We are very grateful to Ute Römer, general editor of the series Studies in Corpus Linguistics, for hosting the volume in the series and for many suggestions, corrections and observations she offered. Thanks are due also to the JB staff for enabling the publication of this rather complicated volume in an orderly and successful manner, and especially and to Kees Vaes, from the editorial staff, and to Susan Hendriks, who took care of the final editorial process for their support and assistance.
