Abstract
This chapter discusses the use of priming to investigate
the representation and online processing of language in multilinguals.
Studies using masked and unmasked priming will be discussed as well as
different types of cross-language priming (e.g., orthographic, phonological,
semantic/associative, and translation). Key findings that have emerged from
these priming studies will be summarized. The chapter will end with a
discussion of some methodological issues of existing priming studies and
possible avenues for future priming studies to study language processing in
multilinguals
