Factores pragmáticos en el uso de los marcadores evidenciales en gallego

Resumen
Este artículo pretende indagar en los factores que condicionan el uso de los marcadores evidenciales en
interacción en la lengua gallega. Tras realizar un análisis cualitativo de ejemplos tomados de dos corpus, uno del gallego actual
y otro un corpus histórico, se defiende que en la decisión del uso de expresiones evidenciales se hallan factores pragmáticos como
son la configuración del territorio de información del hablante (Kamio, A. (1994). The

of Information. John Benjamins. ) y la cortesía negativa (Brown, P. & Levinson, S. C. (1987). Politeness:
Some universals in language usage. Cambridge University Press. ). En lo tocante a la primera categoría, la percepción de qué información pertenece al hablante se ve influida por
tres aspectos: el grado de participación del hablante en la obtención de la información, la lejanía del contenido respecto al
campo de especialización del hablante y, por último, si el acceso al contenido enunciado es intersubjetivo. En ninguno de los tres
casos, la falta de certeza en el contenido proposicional es un componente necesario para el empleo del marcador evidencial.
Respecto a la segunda categoría, la cortesía negativa, se confirma lo que se ha demostrado en la bibliografía sobre su importancia
en la aparición de los evidenciales en situaciones de asimetría epistémica.

Abstract
Pragmatic factors in the use of evidential expressions in Galician
This article aims to investigate the factors that drive the use of evidential markers in interaction in
Galician. After a qualitative analysis of examples taken from two corpora, one from present-day Galician language and the other
from a historical corpus, it is argued that pragmatic factors such as the configuration of the speaker’s information territory
(Kamio, A. (1994). The
theory of territory of information: The case of Japanese. Journal of
Pragmatics, 211, 67–100. , (1997). Territory
of Information. John Benjamins. ) and negative
politeness (Brown, P. & Levinson, S. C. (1987). Politeness:
Some universals in language usage. Cambridge University Press. ) are involved in the decision to use evidential
expressions. Regarding the first category, the perception of what information belongs to the speaker’s territory is influenced by
three aspects: the degree of speaker’s participation in obtaining the information, the remoteness of the content from the
speaker’s field of expertise and, finally, whether the access to the stated content is intersubjective. We defend that the lack of
certainty in the propositional content is not a necessary component for the use of the evidential marker. With respect to the
second category, negative politeness, we confirm what has been shown in the literature about its importance in the appearance of
evidentials in situations of epistemic asymmetry.
