The emphasis of this series is on recent developments in linguistic research in the functional and structural tradition; it includes analyses, translations, and syntheses of current research as well as studies in the history of linguistic scholarship. After vol. 42 (1994) the series was continued under the name Studies in Functional and Structural Linguistics (SFSL).
