Résumé
Cet article examine deux morphèmes transcatégoriels en vietnamien moderne, của et với. Y est défendue l’idée selon laquelle le comportement de ces marqueurs polyfonctionnels, caractérisé par la variabilité de leurs champs d’application syntaxiques et sémantiques, provient de leur structure conceptuelle lexicale de base. Cette structure sous-jacente, tout en étant préservée dans toutes les constructions observées dans lesquelles của et với sont insérés, est modifiée et enrichie d’un contexte à un autre. La structure postulée résulte d’une configuration à deux places et est organisée sur la base de relations dynamiques entre figure et fond.
Abstract
This article investigates two transcategorial morphemes in modern Vietnamese, của and với. It is argued that the polyfunctional behaviour of these markers, which is characterized by the variability in their syntactic and semantic scopes, stems from their basic lexical conceptual structure. This underlying structure, while being preserved in all the observed constructions in which của and với are inserted, is modified and enriched from a context to another. The postulated structure is said to consist in a two-place configuration and is organized on the basis of the dynamic relations between the figure and the ground.
