Abstract
In earlier work we claimed that a preposition prefixed to the complementizer in PP-interrogatives
marks a clefting strategy, as opposed to long-distance wh-movement of PP. We now argue that claim was in error. All
PP-interrogatives of the language make use of the clefting strategy. Prefixation of P to C rather indicates that the P
must be construed with the predicate of the clause C heads.
