La tradición clásica es muy rica en Curial e Güelfa y participa en la estructura general de la obra. Sin embargo, un aspecto poco subrayado es cómo se ha producido la mediación de los temas clásicos. A partir de la aparición de la lengua latina y de la referencia a Macrobio en CeG concluimos que los comentarios a la Divina Comedia de Dante constituyen una fuente de primer orden.
