Resum
El verb metre era molt prolífic en català antic, i abraçava bona part dels sentits actuals de posar. El segle XV va suposar un trencament en relació a la freqüència i als usos d’aquests dos verbs. En el present estudi analitzem, d’una banda, l’estructura semàntica del verb metre en el Curial e Güelfa, i, d’una altra, alguns dels processos de gramaticalització que aquest verb ha experimentat. La lingüística de corpus (més concretament, el CIMTAC) ens proveeix els exemples necessaris per a interpretar-ne els valors i establir-ne comparacions amb textos coetanis de característiques semblants.
Abstract
In Old Catalan metre was a very prolific verb that included some current senses of posar. In the 15th century there was an important change in relation to the frequency and uses of these two verbs. In the present study we analyze, on the one hand, the semantic structure of metre in Curial e Güelfa, and, on the other hand, some of the grammaticalization processes that this verb has experienced. Corpus linguistics (more specifically, CIMTAC) provides the necessary examples to interpret its values and to establish comparisons with contemporary texts that are similar.
