When compared with the whole of the Catalan publishing industry, there is a significant lack of biographies in contemporary Valencia literature. There is, however, one curious exception: books of conversations. The focus of this article is a characterological analysis of the books of conversations published in Catalan literature in general, and in the Valencian context in particular, over the period 1974–2014.
