Abstract
This chapter examines terminology planning for the Welsh language and describes the work of two
centres of terminological activity in Wales: the Language Technologies Unit at Bangor University and the Welsh
Government’s Translation Service. It discusses Welsh governmental policies and their impact on terminology work, and
examines how technology is currently being used to enhance Welsh-language terminology development and dissemination.
It concludes by examining the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence technologies in
terminology planning, demonstrating how minority-language terminology work can successfully adapt to such
technologies.
