Evolución en Los Diccionarios de Antonio de Nebrija, 1492–1512

The lexicographic activities of Antonio de Nebrija (1444?–1522) are present in his numerous works and their adaptations. They are different realisations of various kinds that more often than not exist in the form of a dictionary; the present study, however, deals primarily with nontechnical compilations of the lexicon. It first studies Nebrija’s sources and then the process by which the progressive amplification of lemmata took place, the modification of the criteria in the presentation of the entries, the evolution of his lexicographic concepts, and the like. In order to reach these goals the present paper analyzes, chronologically, the sources, the disposition and treatment of the entries in the vocabulary which accompanies his Latin grammar of 1481 as well as those found in the Latin-Spanish dictionaries of 1492 and 1512.

L’activité lexicographique d’Antonio de Nebrija (1444?–1522) se manifeste dans de nombreuses ouvrages et adopte différentes présentations. Le pré-sent article ne s’occupe que des compilations du lexique non technique. Notre but est d’étudier quelles ont été les sources ayant servi de point de départ et quel a été le processus d’amplification progressive du nombre de lemmes, de modification de critères dans la présentation d’entrées, d’evolution dans la conception lexicographique, etc. Pour ce faire, on analysera, par ordre chronologique, les sources, la disposition et le traitement des entrées dans le vocabulaire accompagnant la grammaire latine de 1481, ainsi que dans les dictionnaires latin-espagnols de 1492 et 1512.

Die lexikographischen Tätigkeiten Antonio de Nebrijas (1444?–1522) haben ihren Niederschlag in zahlreichen, recht unterschiedlich gearteten, Werken gefunden. Der vorliegende Artikel beschäftigt sich nur mit der Kompilation des nichttechnischen Vokabulars. Dabei geht es darum, die Quellen aufzuzeigen, welche als Ausgangspunkt bei der Erstellung der Lemmata dienten und wie das urspriingliche Inventar allmahlich erweitert wurde, ferner wie sich die Kriterien für die Präsentierung der Stichwörter langsam veränderten und welche lexikographischen Vorstellungen hierfür maßgeblich waren. Als Grundlage der chronologisch vorgehenden Untersuchung dient das Vokabular, welche der lateinischen Grammatik von 1481 beigegeben ist sowie die lateinisch-spanischen Wörterbücher von 1492 und 1512.
