How Different in Theme Choice are English Travel Guide Texts Translated from Korean from Non-translated English Texts?*

Abstract/Résumé
Cet exposé présente les resultantsd’uneenquêtesur les differencesdans les “topical theme” entre des textes en lignetraduits en anglais des guides de voyage coréen et des textsanglaisauthentique comparable. Les données pour l'analyse comparative ontétéextraites d'un corpus de traduction de 24000 mots et d'un corpus comparable de 300000 mot, tant POS-étiquetés, avec l'aide du programme “Wordsmith Tools”. Les textstraduitsobservent des tendancesstatistiquementdifférent du choixthématique de la non-traduits. Les textstraduitsutilisent beaucoup moin les pronomspersonnels (“you”, “we”) comme “subject topical themes” oucomme “process theme” en tantque les textes non-traduits, qui sonttousdeux des caractéristiquesfondamentales de l’anglais des textes guide de voyage. En revanche, le textetraduit a montréune plus grandefréquencedans les “circumstance themes” marquées (y compris fronted dependent clauses dans les clauses complexes), uneautrepropriétéfondamentale de l’anglais. Sur la base de ces conclusions, l’exposéconclutque les textstraduitssontfortementinfluencées par les conventions de la langue source, maisqu'ilspresentmentaussi les efforts pour allervers les normes de la langue cible, résultant en une langue unique qui leurestpropre.
