Towards a Functional Translation Strategy for Minor Languages
The case of Greek

Abstract/Résumé
La langue grecque se trouve aujourd’hui dans une situation minoritaire qui reflète sur ses structures et son vocabulaire. Cette situation nécessite une stratégie traductionnelle cohérente qui tiendra compte des particularités de la langue. Ainsi, l’adoption des méthodes de traduction traditionnelles comme celles d’équivalence sont inutiles pour les besoins d’ une langue minoritaire. Ainsi, l’article essaiera d’ expliquer pourquoi l’approche fonctionnaliste de la traduction est une méthode utile pour une langue minoritaire afin de préserver son identité autant qu’ un outil pour l’enseignant de la traduction qui désire de contribuer à la formation d’une stratégie pour la langue et la traduction minoritaire.
