Abstract/Résumé
L’objectif général de ce propos est de démontrer la valeur pratique de sensibiliser les traducteurs et les interprètes à la notion de « pragmatique ». La Pragmatique est définie en tant que l’échange langagier effectif avec les « objectifs » pour lesquels le texte ou l’énoncé ont été utilisés. Le présent propos met l’accent sur le rôle précis de la « pertinence » dans la production et la réception d’un texte. La pertinence est une notion pragmatique en rapport avec la communication basée sur le principe de « l’effort et la récompense » ou en d’autres termes le fait d’atteindre le maximum d’effet avec le minimum d’effort. L’analyse d’une variété d’exemples de textes d’appui en Arabe et en Anglais permettrait de conclure que la compétence pragmatique est un élément principal dans l’opération de traduction et d’interprétation.
