Lexical Transfer in Simultaneous Interpreting

Abstract/Résumé
Une fois expliquée la notion du transfert lexical, l’auteur décrit deux études empiriques de l’interprétation simultanée du polonais en anglais et de l’anglais en polonais. La première étude, faite sur les protocoles rétrospectives de 36 apprentis interprètes avec le polonais comme langue maternelle, compare la fréquence du transfert et de la résistance au transfert non-automatiques en interprétation simultanée vers leur langue maternelle et vers leur langue B. L’autre étude, basée sur les interprétations de 19 apprentis interprètes, explore le transfert en interprétation vers B au moyen de l’analyse du produit. Les résultats suggèrent que, contrairement à ce qu’on pense, dans la combinaison linguistique étudiée dans cet article le transfert lexical ne semble pas être sensiblement plus fort en interprétation vers le B. En outre, il ne semble pas particulièrement nuire à la qualité en interprétation vers le B.
