Decision-Making Process in Translation

Abstract/Résumé
Dans le processus de la traduction, le traducteur doit à chaque moment faire des choix et prendre des décisions. C’est ainsi que le processus de la prise de décisions devient intéressant pour les chercheurs dans la traductologie. Cet article tend à tracer le processus mené par le traducteur pour régler les problèmes par le biais de la méthode de protocole de pensées à voix haute (think aloud protocol) et à observer de manière concrète le processus de sa prise de décisions. Les pensées exprimées à voix haute par le traducteur lors du test permettront de comprendre le processus de sa prise de décisions. Le corpus traité sera principalement des textes comprenant des expressions métaphoriques qui montrent des caractéristiques non-littérales et qui nécessitent ainsi l’intervention active du traducteur. Les traducteurs ayant participé au test sont soit des traducteurs professionnels d’une exprérience d’au moins 5 ans, soit des étudiants en cours de formation. Pour la présente analyse, les 6 processus de traduction définis comme phénomène pivotal du traitement par Tirkkonen-Condit (2000) ont été utilisés, les énoncés ayant été enregistrés et transcrits. Cet article vise à démontrer le processus de la prise de décisions à adopter pour une meilleure traduction par la comparaison entre les traducteurs professionnels et les traducteurs en cours de formation.
