Abstract/Résumé
L’AIIC, suite aux difficultés rencontrées par l’Association en défendant ses conditions de travail auprès de la Federal Trade Commission américaine, a chargé un cabinet spécialisé dans la médécine du travail d’entreprendre une étude sur la charge de travail de l’interprète de conférence. 48 interprètes se sont portés volontaires pour une suivie sur 24h. de leurs réactions physiologiques, 607 (41%) ont répondus à un questionnaire addressé à un échantillon réprésentatif de membres. Les interactions entres quatre categories de paramètres: psychologiques, physiologiques, physiques, performance ont été examinées. Les résultats montrent que l’interprétation simultanée est une activité comportant des niveaux des stress très élévés.
