Résumé
Tout acte ou entreprise comportent en soi une dimension morale. Le présent article appelle à l’inclusion des traducteurs présentant des handicaps visuels et auditifs dans la conception des logiciels de traduction assistée qui répondent à leurs besoins spécifiques. Élaborant le cadre théorique aboutissant à ce raisonnement, l’article examine l’étendue morale des intelligences artificielles qui gouvernent les progrès technologiques en matière de traduction assistée, et la confronte à la notion de l’empathie. La finalité est l’établissement d’un lien entre la traductologie morale et les technologies de la traduction.
Abstract
Every act or endeavour has an inherent moral dimension. This article calls for the inclusion of translators with visual and auditory disabilities in the design of assisted translation softwares that respond to their specific needs. While developing the theoretical framework for this reasoning, this article examines the moral extent of artificial intelligence that governs technological progress in computer-assisted translation, and challenges it against the notion of empathy. The aim is to establish a link between moral translation studies and translation technologies.
