This paper investigates translation-related problems when it comes to translating poetry. The paper examines a set of translations of a Romanian poem by various non-native (but proficient) speakers of English. I hypothesize that this poem is almost impossible to translate due to both lexical and cultural issues. In order to improve translatability, I suggest turning the peritext of the bi- or plurilingual poem editions into a dialogue with more actants.
