Abstract
This paper discusses how to use the “Performed Culture Approach (PCA)” to develop intermediate and advanced
Chinese audio-visual-oral courses. Under the framework of the Performed Culture, the article first discusses six guiding
principles for developing intermediate and advanced audio-visual-oral courses. Then, the article introduces a new course based on
a non-heritage advanced-level Chinese user’s job experience video series in China, and elaborates on its material selection,
course structure, assessment, and field-testing feedback. Finally, the article summarizes applicable rules for developing
intermediate and advanced Chinese audio-visual-oral courses.
