In this final chapter, we summarize the state of the art concerning the research on body memory in phenomenology, in the cognitive sciences, and in embodied therapies. Thereby, we show the impact of the studies collected in this volume for the development of the research in these three fields. Firstly, we consider the contributions from the cognitive sciences and from embodied therapies from a phenomenological standpoint. Secondly, we show how the present volume contributes to the current debate on memory in the cognitive sciences. Thirdly, we discuss the relevance of body memory with selected populations from the perspective of embodied therapies. And finally, we conclude with the most important points of this book.
