Chapter 20. Emotorics

This chapter is not a scientific discourse based on erudite quotations. Its purpose is rather (a) to present the typological model of Emotorics, a theory I have developed for the purpose of tentative reconstruction of the subjective meaning embedded in the evoked memory fragments, and (b) to share with my readers selected episodes in which obscure body behavior suddenly comes to the surface presenting entries from my personal professional diary. The basic premise of Emotorics is that motor behavior patterns and emotive body language develop from core biological-relational prototypes. I present selected episodes in which early memories were first “replayed” by obscure body behavior which seems out of any present context. Each episode will be followed by some personal reflections about their possible meaning in light of Emotorics’ typology.
