Andrew Chesterman and Rosemary Arrojo’s (AC and RA’s) articulation of a set of shared assumptions and objectives represents an admirable effort. Not only is the exercise constructive in that it represents an attempt to reconcile otherwise antagonistic camps: the 30 theses listed here are also illuminating as a diagnostic of current thinking within our discipline.
