Introduction

This is an exercise in manipulating data. Some of the “tricks” that SPSS can perform will prove to be extremely useful when you prepare your data for analysis. Some will prove to be very handy: the recode (7.1) and compute (7.2) procedures will save you a lot of time. With select cases (7.3) you will enable analysis on one part of your data set. Please check the relevant sections of Chapter 7 to refresh your memory.
