Introduction

For this assignment you conduct a literature search on one (or more) of the proposed subjects via a digital data system (preferably PsycINFO). The purpose of this assignment is that you discover the uses (and of course the limitations) of sources like PsycINFO. As a student you will find this experience very useful, for instance in preparations for your B.A. or M.A. dissertations, or for your Ph.D. thesis. The way these data systems work is almost uniform. So, in case you write a paper on a subject that is not related to scientific approaches in the Arts, you can also use the experience on other sources that basically work the same way (e.g., Historical Abstracts; Language and Language Behavior Abstracts; Arts & Humanities Citation Index; Modern Language Association library (MLA); MUSE.
