The book under review is a première in several ways: it is the first collective volume devoted exclusively to (empirical) research on simultaneous interpreting (henceforth: SI) without being derived from a conference or some such event; it is also the first volume on interpreting in Benjamins' BTL series of publications in Translation Studies, and it is the first work edited by Sylvie Lambert, a cognitive psychologist turned interpreter trainer based at the University of Ottawa.
