Hangok a fordításban [Voices in translation]

A hang(ok) fogalmát különböző értelemben használták már a fordítástudományban. Metaforaként különböző típusú hang(ok)ra is használják, például szerzők, fordítók, tolmácsok, elbeszélők, szereplők, sőt akár kutatók hangjaira, ahogy arra a New Voices in Translation Studies [Új hangok a fordítástudományban] folyóirat címe is utal. Továbbá a hangokat nem átvitt értelemben a tolmácsok, szinkronszínészek és olyan énekesek és színészek tényleges, fizikai hangjaira is használják, akik lefordított dalokat vagy színdarabokat adnak elő (Anderman 2007; lásd Drámafordítás; Zene és fordítás; Hangalámondás és szinkron). Szorosan kapcsolódó és részben egymást átfedő fogalmak a következők: stílus (lásd Baker 2000, és lásd Stilisztika és fordítás), láthatóság/láthatatlanság, ágencia (lásd A fordítás folyamatának résztvevői), „fordító a szövegben” (May 1994) és a függő beszéd (Folkart 1991). A fordítástudományban a hang(ok) egyes értelmezései egyértelműen más tudományágakból származnak, mint például a nyelvészet, az összehasonlító irodalomtudomány, az antropológia és a posztkoloniális tanulmányok.
