Przekładoznawstwo [Translation Studies]

Umieszczenie w podręczniku przekładoznawstwa hasła „Przekładoznawstwo” (Translation Studies) niesie za sobą ryzyko uznania go za zbędne, powierzchowne lub za bezpodstawny przejaw samouwielbienia. Ostatecznie problematyka przekładoznawstwa zostanie zapewne poruszona w innych hasłach, począwszy od „Adaptacji”, a na „Internecie i przekładzie” skończywszy. Jednak termin „Przekładoznawstwo” nie jest bynajmniej pozbawiony kontrowersji, a w niniejszym haśle zostanie podjęta próba obniżenia wspomnianego ryzyka poprzez zwrócenie szczególnej uwagi na tożsamość, historię, rozwój i koncepcje przekładoznawstwa od drugiej połowy XX wieku. Może to stanowić kontekst dla zrozumienia kwestii omawianych bardziej szczegółowo w innych hasłach tej książki, a także uwydatnić poszczególne aspekty podlegające dyskusji.
