A noção de “problema” tem emergido largamente no discurso sobre tradução, independentemente de o discurso ter ambições teóricas (exemplo da categoria “Estudos de Tradução Puros – Teoria [Parcial] Restrita ao Problema” de Holmes), descritivo-explicativas ou aplicadas e de a própria palavra “problema” ser ou não utilizada. O complemento lógico de “problema” — “solução” — é ainda mais raro.
