Медичний переклад є одним з найдавніших видів перекладу, що бере початок ще у Давній Месопотамії. Він відіграв значну роль у розбудові та передачі медичних знань наступним цивілізаціям, які їх отримували через грецьку, латинську, арабську, англійську та інші мови.
