Littérature de jeunesse et traduction [Children’s literature and translation]

L’appellation « Traduction de la littérature de jeunesse » est la plus répandue pour ce domaine d’étude mais certains spécialistes préfèrent parler de « Traduction pour la jeunesse » ou « Traduire pour la jeunesse » , ces appellations mettant en avant le fait que les enfants constituent ici le lectorat cible et non une caractéristique du texte. La traduction de la littérature de jeunesse se distingue par un ensemble de caractéristiques dont les plus communément étudiées par les chercheurs du domaine sont: (1) l’adaptation du contexte culturel, (2) la manipulation idéologique, (3) le double lectorat (un public cible composé à la fois d’enfants et d’adultes), (4) les caractéristiques d’oralité et (5) la relation entre le texte et l’image.
