Lastenkirjallisuuden kääntäminen [Children’s literature and translation]

Alan tutkimusta kutsutaan pääsääntöisesti lastenkirjallisuuden kääntämiseksi. Osa tutkijoista puhuu kuitenkin mieluummin lapsille kääntämisestä korostaakseen sitä, että lapset ovat tekstin oletettuja lukijoita eivätkä tekstilajin piirre. Lastenkirjallisuuden kääntämiselle ominaisia piirteitä ovat muun muassa nämä alan tutkimuksessa usein käsiteltävät piirteet: (1) kulttuurinen kontekstiadaptaatio, (2) ideologinen manipulaatio, (3) kaksoislukijuus (kohdeyleisö koostuu sekä lapsista että aikuisista), (4) ääneen luettavuuden piirteet ja (5) tekstin ja kuvan välinen suhde.
