Shaping terms: The evolution of terminology. The Portuguese case

Terminology as a scientific discipline was introduced in Portugal in the late 1980s with the formal establishment of the Associação Portuguesa de Terminologia (TERMIP) and by Maria Teresa Lino (1947–2019), who created a course in terminology within the Department of Linguistics at NOVA University Lisbon, making it the first institution in the country to offer this field of study.
