Consolidating terminology on a single online platform: The Estonian case
Estonian has been the state language of Estonia for just slightly over a century, thus the development of specialised language is well-documented. This allows for an overview of the different phases, focuses and influences in the evolution of Estonian specialised language. While the development of written language was heavily influenced by German, the Estonian language, including in specialised domains, has during its turbulent history also been significantly impacted by Finnish, Russian and, more recently, English. Furthermore, specialised language shows traces of dialects.
