Notation in formal semantics

Walter De Mulder
Table of contents

The aim of this text is not to present all the different systems of notation used in theories of so-called ‘formal semantics’. One could ask whether such a project would be feasible or even sensible. Not only do the notations used in ‘formal semantics’ vary from framework to framework, they also change with the development of the corresponding theories and from article to article — as can be expected of any living field of inquiry.
