Interpretive semantics

According to interpretive semantics, syntax is an independent level of grammar with formation rules of its own, and syntactic structures do not include semantic factors. The meaning of a linguistic expression with a certain syntactic structure follows from a set of interpretive principles that are applied to the expression and its syntactic structure. From a methodological point of view, interpretive semantics is an ideology that tends to keep syntax as simple and natural as possible.
