Anthropological linguistics
Table of contents
Anthropological linguistics is the name applied to the subfield of anthropology that has language as its primary subject matter. In that regard, anthropological linguistics is simply the anthropological study of language, but efforts to distinguish that area of inquiry among other, related, ones encounter some difficulty. Terminology and distinctions among disciplines and sub-fields can be somewhat hard to follow. An effort at clarity follows.
